What is Capital Cruise?
A brand new, four-day car event full of activities, car runs and fun, with a poker run, a mystery cruise, social get-togethers and a car show to top it all off. If you are into Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Modern Classics or Cars of Special Interest, then this is the event for you. Capital Cruise is set to become an Annual Event!
Catch up with old friends, make some new friends or just enjoy a great event.
We have also teamed up with the Child Cancer Foundation and part of the proceeds from our first event, will be being donated to them.
When is it?
Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th November 2025
Where is it?
Held in the Capital of New Zealand, Centred in Upper Hutt, Wellington
Can I just turn up?
You need to register before being able to take part in the Capital Cruise event.
What do I get for my Registration Fee
The Car, the Driver AND a Passenger is just $249.00.
Each additional passenger is $35.00per person.
Entry Fee includes:

Nibbles at the Entrant Welcome Gathering on Thursday evening.

A Poker Run Cruise on Friday, which includes 5 activities we have planned for you to do as you collect your cards.

A Mystery Cruise on Saturday through the four great cities that make up Wellington.

Entry to the Capital Cruise Park Up on Sunday, with food trucks, stalls and kids entertainment, this is where the public get to enjoy your ride.
When can I register?
Registration will be open soon, keep an eye out on our social media pages for when entries go live. Numbers are capped so please don't miss out!
Is my car eligible?
If you have a Hot Rod, a Muscle Car, a Modern Classic or a Car of Special Interest, then you are likely to be eligible. If you are unsure if your car is eligible or not, contact us HERE via email with a picture of your car along with its details, and we will come back to you. Electric, Hybrid, PHEV's or Diesel powered vehicles are not eligible to enter.
The Capital Cruise committee will ultimately decide eligibility, and this will be entirely at their discretion.
Is there a Theme?
Yes there is. At the Capital Cruise Catch Up on Saturday evening, at Davis Field Clubrooms, there is a Mexican dress up theme with prizes for the Best Costumes, so 'Vamos' and 'Rapido' and get your costume sorted.
Can I enter my Caravan or Motorcycle?
No Motorcycles or Caravans this year.
The Law:
You must have a road legal car to be able to enter, which includes a current Warrant of Fitness and Registration. Large parts of the event are being held on public roads and there will be an increased Police presence that weekend, you must also follow all of the New Zealand Road Rules while driving at the event. We want to have a Good, Clean, Fun weekend, please see our Terms and Conditions.
Do I need to be there for all four days, to be eligible for prizes?
No you don't. It would however be great to have you take part in all of the events and activities we have planned. Vehicles and Awards are being selected by our judges during the entire event, some awards may be specific to a day but not all awards are. The People's Choice Award, will be voted on by the public who are looking at the Cars on display, at the Capital Cruise Park up on Sunday, 30th November.
To be eligible for any Awards at Capital Cruise, you need to have registered, prior to the Event taking place. Prize Giving will take place at 1 pm, on Show Day at the Capital Cruise Park Up, 30th November 2025.
Am I able to buy a Stall Space for the Capital Cruise Park-Up?
Yes, please contact us HERE with your request. Stall holder Terms & Conditions will apply here.
Will there be Stalls with Merchandise for sale?
Yes, Merchandise will be available at different points of the Weekend, including the Capital Cruise Park-Up on Sunday, 30th November 2025.
Will there be Food available?
Yes, there will be Food available to purchase at the Poker Run events, the Saturday evening get-together and the Capital Cruise Park-Up on Sunday, 30th November 2025. There will be a number of food options &/or food trucks available.

Can I sell food or drink with my Food truck or Coffee cart?
If you have a Food Truck or a Coffee Cart, you can register HERE. All Food and Drink Terms and Conditions will apply.

Weather, Cancellation or Postponement:
There will be no refunds if the event has to be postponed or cancelled, for whatever reason. Your funds will be kept and you can use them for the next subsequent event. For more on this, please see our Terms and Conditions.
Are Pets Allowed?
Pets/Dogs are not permitted onto Davis Field, which is where we are holding the Registration, the Welcome Get-together, the Capital Cruise Function and the Capital Cruise Park-Up. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the owners of Davis Field.
Schedules and Activities:
If for reasons beyond our control, we are forced to change or alter schedules or activities, we apologize in advance, we will however do our best to keep things on track.
